Perfect Parties with the Lord Mayor

Little Pretty Things is very excited to announce a fantastic new partnership with The Mansion House in York, official residence of the Lord Mayor. The Mansion House is a gorgeous Georgian building in the centre of York and has housed many a grand occasion as successive Lord Mayors have entertained visitors to our fair city. We are so pleased to be working with the Mansion House enabling visitors to join us for chocolate tastings, lectures and chocolate making workshops in the original kitchen of the house. The partnership is particularly apt considering the role chocolate has had in the development of the city, while many of York's great chocolate makers

The partnership got well under way with a fantastic birthday party for a special lady and 16 of her have held office as Lord Mayor and Sheriff and resided in the house. friends. Firstly they were treated to an extra special afternoon tea in the dining room, all freshly prepared and served by Susan and Elisa at Classic Crockery. Whilst the ladies were enjoying shopping in York the kitchen came to life with the smells of freshly made soup and exquisitely dainty sandwiches, followed by home made scones and gorgeous cupcakes created by Curiositea Shop, we were quite tempted to not let the ladies in and just enjoy the day to ourselves.

Following afternoon tea the ladies joined us downstairs in the kitchen,
an area not usually on show in the Mansion House, however it is full of character, from the old bell calling system to the pewter tea pots and stove of a bygone era. The Mansion House kitchen once hosted the Prince of Wales for a fabulous banquet as well as nearly every visiting dignitary to the city, it's not difficult to imagine the house coming alive to the smells of exotic foods, it is quite a privilege to be able to work in such a venue.

During the afternoon the party created some gorgeous chocolates of their own, they made some beautiful milk chocolate truffles and then all got experimenting so we could help them create their own indulgent recipe. As well as
the odd piece of chocolate birthday cake, all in all a lot of chocolate was enjoyed and taken home, we'd hope to have been able to pinch a cake, but they were all devoured, a great compliment to the team!

We had a lovely day and can't wait to be able to welcome lots of chocolate lovers to explore the beauty of the Mansion House. The Mansion House is an ideal location based in York city centre, we are pleased to be able to offer afternoon tea and chocolate making workshops for up to 50 participants as well as chocolate tastings, seminars and school visits for up to 60 participants.
